The Holy Order of Gaea
by Paul Devisser
Founded in 2034 by a wealthy individual who watched his son die after being poisoned by fish caught in a mountain stream. The stream had been polluted by industrial waste that had been illegally disposed by a now defunct corporation. However, the man was wrought with grief, and used his wealth to create the group, and set up a headquarters for it. He was killed in 2047 by a couple of corp guards that caught him and several other members of the group planting bombs in a waste treatment facility.
The group maintains several contacts in the media world who dig up information regarding illegal operations by corps, especially those dealing with the environment. They also maintain covert relations with several other organizations who are environmentally conscious to the extreme. On occasions, members have accompanied these organizations, providing magical firepower to help accomplish goals such as destroying freighters with toxic waste, destroying manufacturing facilities, and high-tech research facilities that use animals and humans for testing.
The group is centered in London, Ontario so that it is situated to the East of Detroit and the West of Buffalo and Toronto. Although London itself has a lot of manufacturing and chemical processing plants, the group has not yet begun to strike at targets in the area and concentrated their efforts in Buffalo and Detroit.
The leaders are primarily fanatics, and some are toxic Avenger shamans, while others are Hermetic mages with similar views. They feel no remorse if people get killed while they are spreading their message. That’s the risk one takes living in the Sixth World.
