SAS
by Simon Martin (Simon.M@btinternet.com)
“Well, it was a while back that I served with the army, then I got moved here. I like it here, we are one big happy family. The SAS are more than the other teams, we are a conglomeration of individuals, each a team in itself. We can’t blow our own horn and we don’t want to. My record show several “vacations”, yes, we do cover black ops as well. I am here to protect my little island and I do it admirably. We have been the best since the start and we always will be. The SAS is my life. No one can beat us.”
“Look, friend, I don’t want to start any trouble here. Let the lady go and you won’t be hurt <10 seconds pass> frowns and looks at the floor Why doesn’t anyone listen? <5 seconds pass> Area alpha clear, move on team 2.”
“I don’t need all this from you, you only have to put down the gun and you can go home. I will still be doing this tomorrow, now STAND DOWN SOLDIER! HE ISN’T GOING ANYWHERE!”
Commentary
Survivors and experts. Trained in the best areas under the hardest conditions. Every member of this branch of the army can withstand torture and fear. As part of training, they undergo a three-day assignment where they are let loose and subsequently tracked down and put through “rigorous psychological testing” to see if they will break under enemy stress. You fail, you’re out. The toughest and the best, it’s undisputed world over. Each individual is trained to be able to operate separately from the others and as a team. Don’t think so? Go out and read Bravo Two Zero, it’s out of date but still true.

Notes
There is not a fighting force in the world like them. Members vary greatly, but always fall at LEAST to this base. Magic is not uncommon in the ranks, but is usually handled separately from the main operatives. Physical adepts with pain resistance, et al., undergo extra training on top of what is doled out to normal members of the force to ensure the top percentage of each group and not to specialize in one single area. They carry out almost any type of missions from hostage and terrorists to desert wars.

>>>>>[These guys are the best. I have seen them in action. Or, more appropriately, haven’t seen them in action. They are fast, slick, and almost unbeatable. I hosed a few down with an Ingram and they were gone before I had a chance to check the bodies. Not one SAS body has been identified in UCAS territory in almost 50 years. They tend the dead.]<<<<<
