New rules for body and armor

by Unknown

This is a totally experamental system created by my friend and I to add a touch of common sence to gaming. If you don’t like them don’t use them.

These are the changes as follows:

Body (old term)= Size + Material

Now that is the equasion.

I’ll explain it to you now.

  • The maximum size can equal 20.
  • The maximum material can also equal 20.

I will publish a list of all of the vehicles in the rigger black book later for this info.

You take the sum of size and material and divide these by two.

There is the number of structural points on the given vehicle.

example:size=15 material=15

15+15=30

and 30/2=15 so you would have 15 structural points

Here is the good part.

For every 4 points one Hard Point may be mounted. As for every 2 points a firm point may be added. For those vehicles with listed extra hard points, do not take them into consideraton when figuing these numbers. In other words, these do not take away points.

With our 15 structural points we can get 3 hard points, and 1 firm point.

Additional hard and firm points may or may not be added. (GM option)

If the GM so allows it here is how that works.

Take the size and devide it by 4. Lets use our 15 again shall we.

15/4=3 full hard points or for firmpoints 15/2=7 firm points.

If this seems like cheating to you let me explain. A military Hemmet (size=20) of today could carry 10 times the weapons and armor a Ford Probe (size=8) could right.

I would like to add armor to this for you now.

This is easy.

Armor=material.

To increace material you must deduct 5kmph per level above normal. The cost however depends apon the GM.

Note: All of the above listed was listed without cost intentionaly for the purpose of GM discretion.
