Ladyhawke

Name: Rebecca Keno
Closest Archetype: Security Systems Design Engineer, Centurion Security

The skinny: Ladyhawke is one of the top system engineers for Centurion Security. To hear this surprises everyone who knows her due to her extreme paranoia. Ladyhawke doesn’t trust any security measure, even the ones she has planned herself. Her official title at Centurion Security is Security Systems Design Assistant (SSDA). She is incredible at theorizing optimal security systems but has very little idea as to how to apply her theories.

Ladyhawke is a devout catholic and a budding mage. She sees her powers as a gift from God that should be used to support the church. She does so with passion, often times adding illusion effects to the Sunday mass in order to excite the congregation. She is highly self-conscious of herself and shy beyond all reason. She has few friends outside of work and despite the fact that she cooks for herself and rigorously cleans her upper-middle lifestyle apartment, she maintains a live-in maid; perhaps in order to have company. She’s certain that she’ll never find love. She’s never had a boyfriend, she’s too picky. (She turns away all suitors below 6 charisma.) Those who pass the looks test can get a date but none ever last past the intelligence test (must have a 6+ intelligence as well to match her own intellect). She is equally choosy in the people she associates with on a friendship level. She only associates with high class looking people. Street types are not her type. Her motto is “Jeans should not be worn outside of the house.” To that end, she doesn’t own a single pair.

Ladyhawke does not consider herself a racist. She believes that all races are children of God. However, she chooses to avoid the meta-human races, especially elves (whom she claims look demonic). Ladyhawke is also against interracial breeding and homosexuality.

Meeting Ladyhawke: It is a difficult business meeting Ladyhawke, but the rewards of such a challenge speak for themselves. She spends a fair amount of her free time in church. In fact, that is the only place where she can be found outside of the home or office. She can be hired for security consulting at the exorbitant fee of 1250 Nuyen for a 2 1/2 hour consultation.

Description: 5’8” 107lbs. She has a gaunt body and is a very plain woman. Ladyhawke is conservative and proper, a fact that shines in her wardrobe. She wears the latest name brands but only their most conservative fashions. She only wears long dresses, sometimes flower patterned. No frills, no sparkles. Strangely enough, Ladyhawke is one of the few people to still wear glasses. She possesses several pair of glasses—one pair to match each dress she owns.

History: There isn’t much to be said about Ladyhawke’s past. She was raised in a convent and supported by her wealthy parents. In college (Georgia Southern) she double majored in thaumaturgy and Sociology. Her career was an accident. While spending time at a friend’s home (government official) she made several comments about how the security could be improved. Her friend forwarded the comments to her own security consultant who was blown away by the ideas. Despite the fact that she had no formal security training, he approached Ladyhawke with a job offer. After much persuading by her friend, she decided to take the job.

The handle Ladyhawke was coined by one of her coworkers who admired her vigilance, and was amused by her aloof attitude. “Almost hawk-like.” He said. “A real Lady-Hawk.” The name stuck. Although she hated it at first, she adjusted to it after time. Ladyhawke discovered that she was a mage shortly after taking the SSDA position at Centurion. She felt the powers were a sign of the devil upon her and immediately quit Centurion and went into religious retreat. Her priest convinced her after time that her powers were not evil but instead a gift from god. From that time on she decided to use those powers to benefit the church. She came out of hiding and rejoined the security firm that she had once blamed for the discovery of her ‘evil’ powers. She’s been one of Centurion’s top employees ever since.
