The New Co-Maintainer Speaks

By now, I think you’ve probably seen the news – I’m one of the two new co-maintainers of The Shadowrun Archive, responsible for submissions and upkeep.

Why me? Is Paolo in love with me? Am I in love with Paolo?

Because he asked and I volunteered. I don’t think he is. And no, he lives to far away for me to love him.

I’ve been coming to the Archive for about two years now, which may not seem so long ago, but it really is. Back then, the Archive was a hand-maintained file. Grey background, picture of a guy from Bladerunner, and still the same intro.. : )

Along with visiting the Archive, I tried to keep in touch with Paolo, and we became pretty good friends. He wasn’t the demi-god I expected, just an ordinary guy, with a great sense of humour. We hit it right off, and we can easily spend hours chatting about this and that. So when he said he needed help keeping up with the Archive, I jumped at it, of course.

Since becoming one of the first Shadowrun sites online, The Shadowrun Archive has maintained its content and userbase like few others have. I expect good things when I check the What’s New section, and I hope that trend continues into the future. I’m going to do my damndest to insure that it does, while hopefully not neglecting ShadowRN, TSS, School, and that Real Life (tm) thing..

As I said before, I’m currently working through a rather large amount of back-logged submissions. But don’t let that stop you from submitting something! The Contributing Section has been revised and updated to reflect a few minor changes to the submission procedure. And trust me, within a little while, there will be a ton of New/Old stuff coming online. You wouldn’t believe the stuff Paolo had hidden away..

What does this all mean to you, the standard Archive user? Not much, actually. You’ll probably get faster response to emails though ; ) Aside from that, The Shadowrun Archive will continue providing you with great player and GM aids, and hopefully a ton of fun.

As always, I can be reached via email at fro@lis.ab.ca, or visit my Contacting Me page.
