Ammunition Casing Ejector Kit
by Jussi Timonen
This kit prevents fired casings from hitting the ground. Essentially it is a clip-on extension with a small bag attached to the end of the barrel, which then catches the hot cases and holds them there.
This kit costs ¥70 for any bullet-firing weapon. Installation takes 3 minutes, and can be carried out by any characters without need of any tests. All weapons using belts cannot use this.
Armor Camouflage System
by David Altman
Do you wanna avoid being seen? Obviously not. Otherwise you wouldn't wear those day-glo combat pants, with the pink fringe. This system allows you to blend in with modern armor and weaponry, appearing as a police officer, Lone Star cop, corpsec guard, or your local CAS military unit. And yes, it works! The system includes all the standard emblems, badges, radio, and belt equipment (plastic gun included!). It not only looks like armor, you can put armor underneath it! There are four models from which to choose: security guard, Lone Star (Seattle), UCAS Military, and Ares Forces. With this system, available through certain connections, you can walk past most any guard without him suspecting a thing! Provides quick access to real weaponry underneath. Just unsnap the quick release straps, which have a -2 modifier to draw, and start blowing! Hey, even law enforcement can use this, especially for undercover work. Do you wanna look like a hero? Try the Armor Camouflage System (tm)!
 Smiling Face
{: .comment }
The system consists of a polymerized replica of the various armors available on the open and black market. Under close inspection, physical or through magnification, the fake armor can be detected on an Intelligence(6) test. The armor replica folds and stores easily when not in use. The fake armor may be placed over any armor which has a ballistic rating of 3 or less.
The belt, boots, gloves, and helmet are all included. They are not armored, but simply plastic and foam rubber. Shoulder emblems, patches, and badges for the particular type are all provided. The UCAS and Ares versions also include fake field radio and scrambler (these don’t work), fake grenades (they don’t work either), and a fake pistol (again not functional).
Cost and availability vary depending on type. Lone Star and security guard armor camouflage costs ¥200, availability 6/72 hours. UCAS Military and Ares Forces cost ¥500, availability 8/7 days.
These systems can be customized to the individual with 2 successes on an Intelligence(4) test and 5 hours of work. This is considered a streetware modification. In addition, other similar types can be manufactured in about 2D6 days and costs of 2D6 times ¥75.
Biomonitor Link
by Jason J. Carter
The Biomonitor Link system (BML) is a datajack-based system which constantly monitors the vital statistics of the user and transmits that data to a specified location for monitoring by other parties.
The BML requires a datajack or equivalent system (such as a cyberdeck) and operates using a bodily biomonitor and a transmitter/receiver. Optionally, a data storage device (typically a headware memory) may be used to record the biomonitor data for later retrieval. The biomonitor and the transmitter/receiver components of the BML are almost always incorporated into a single package, but may be kept separate. Combined systems are usually of ‘wrist watch’ size. BML signals typically have a range of 5km in urban environments, though many installations use existing telecommunications systems or even the Matrix to relay information over arbitrary distances.
A typical urban installation would consist of a small BML broadcasting to a receiver/decoder located at a security checkpoint, which then alerts a response team if the alarm sounds. The receiver may be operated manually (by a guard reading a screen) or entirely automatically. A security rigger may also use them by plugging in an authorized override code.
The standard alarm is when a tracked body’s life sign flatlines. Other conditions may be noted and recorded to the data storage device, or simply constantly displayed at a monitoring station. Such conditions may be detected and a subject’s condition may be recorded under the following circumstances:
- Flatline (death) [standard]: automatic
- Physical or mental damage [optional]: automatic
- Drugged or diseased [optional]: Biotech(4) to recognize accurately
- Emotional state [optional]: Psychology(6) to recognize accurately
- Level of fatigue [optional]: Biotech(4) to recognize accurately
All BMLs incorporate some form of anti-tamper device - if they are broken, turned off, or removed, they trigger their alarm. A character may attempt to fool a monitoring station by falsifying his own biomonitor with a Biotech (Intelligence) test against a threshold equal to the monitoring station personnel’s skill. Since BMLs operate using the bodynet, they may potentially be used to trace the source of any unwarranted cyberware activity. By the same token, skilled deckers may use them to relay false signals or even alter the signals of others nearby.

A receiver/decoder for a BML costs ¥200 per tracked individual (for a dedicated system), or ¥2000 + ¥100 per additional tracked individual (for a broadcast receiver). Dedicated receivers cannot be detected, while broadcast receivers can.
A data storage device for use with a BML is simply any headware memory. One Megapulse can store one week’s worth of data for an entire team (typically 4-6 people).
Booby-Trapped Credstick
by Michael Holling
Similar in nature to the collapsible baton, a booby-trapped credstick is a certified credstick with a miniature explosive contained inside the reader slot. When the credstick is inserted into a reader, or attempts are made to open or disassemble it, the explosive goes off. The explosive is similar to a mini-grenade, doing 6S damage with a 1 meter blast radius and a -1/meter drop-off.
These require a certified credstick and some miniature explosive. The time to prepare the trap is 30 minutes, and requires a Demolitions (Intelligence) success against a target number of 4.
Street Index: 3, Availability: 3/48 hours, Cost: (credstick cost) + ¥150
Breakaway Clothing
by Todd “Prophet” Rutkus
These are clothes designed to come apart quickly, revealing another layer of clothing beneath. This is perfect for quick disguise changes and getaways. The clothes can either ‘tear away’ to come off (where special stitching allows the clothes to rip apart in the right places), or they can be quickly unsnapped or unbuttoned.
The clothing costs +25% more than normal clothing. Availability is 2/24 hours.
Collapsible Baton
by Vincent Esposito
This innocent-looking item is a hollow pen or rod that seems to be just part of a pocket protector or standard writing utensil. However, hidden inside is a powerful spring which, when triggered, sends a weighted shaft out the front. This shaft is made of tungsten steel and does (STR)M Stun damage. The trigger can be either a button or a throwing motion. Cocking the baton takes a Simple Action.
For legality purposes these are in the same category as stun batons, and have the same availability.

Corp Entertainment Certificate
by Robert A. Hayden
Corporate Entertainment Certificates (CECs) are a common item on the sprawl, and are quite often legitimate. They are typically issued to mid-to-high level corp executives and are basically just a credstick with some nuyen on it. What makes it unique is that the money on the CEC is earmarked specifically for ‘entertainment’ purposes (BTLs, expensive liquor, etc.) and all expenditures are carefully recorded.
Needless to say, even a legitimate CEC is only traceable to the corporation that issued it, and unless that corp’s riggers are actively monitoring expenses (which they usually aren’t, for entertainment expenses under 10,000¥) the CEC holder is effectively anonymous.
Because of this anonymity, fake CECs have become a much-utilized means of spending dirty money. Such certificates are quite common on the black market, selling for ¥50 to ¥500 (8/7 days, Street Index 2), and are untraceably loaded from an anonymous credstick. Generally fake CECs are good for at most a few thousand nuyen (rarely over 10,000¥) and may or may not carry a corp logo.
Epinephrine Dispenser
by Mike Lawson
Epinephrine is a synthetic adrenaline substitute which, when injected, can restore consciousness to a character who has been stunned or knocked out. The Epinephrine Dispenser (ED) is a small unit, usually worn on the wrist, which constantly monitors the user’s condition and automatically injects a dose of epinephrine when needed.
When a character is reduced to 0 or less Mental boxes, the ED activates and restores the character to full consciousness (all Mental damage is removed). The character suffers no ill effects from the injection. However, the character’s natural adrenaline system is thrown into chaos - for the next (12 - Body) hours, the character suffers a -2 penalty to all Reaction tests and may not use any Reaction-improving drugs or spells.
Each ED holds three doses of epinephrine. Additional doses may be purchased for ¥50 each. Reloading the dispenser takes 10 minutes.
Cost: ¥300 + ¥150 for 3 doses

Extended Concealable Holster
by Various
An extended concealable holster is basically a reinforced coat sleeve or pant leg that has been adapted to hold a weapon. By keeping one’s arm or leg stiff, a weapon such as an SMG or even a rifle can be kept hidden until needed. When needed, the holder relaxes their limb and the weapon slides out. This provides a concealability modifier of +1 to any weapon that is 65cm or less in length.
The holder can specify where they want the weapon to come out (wrist, thigh, etc.), and the cost varies. For a sleeve, the cost is ¥100. For a pant leg, ¥150. For either, the availability is 4/48 hours and the Street Index is 2.
Flash-Pak
by David Altman
The Flash-Pak is an improved version of a typical photo-flash. The Flash-Pak is significantly brighter than a normal flash and can temporarily blind an opponent in combat. The target must make a Willpower(4) test or be blinded for 2D6 turns. During this time, the target’s visibility modifiers increase by +4. (Note that this penalty may be reduced using compensation programs or visual filters with Flare Compensation.)
The Flash-Pak can be set to trigger with a timer, a proximity sensor, or a remote trigger. Arming the Flash-Pak takes a Simple Action. The Flash-Pak’s flash can be seen for several blocks and will certainly draw attention.

Forearm Snap-Blades
by Jason J. Carter
These small knives are similar to boot knives, but they’re mounted on the forearm instead. They’re held in special spring-loaded sheaths that snap the blade into the user’s hand when triggered. This provides a -2 modifier to the drawing time and effectively eliminates the reach disadvantage of knives. The downside is that they’re very obvious to anyone who can see the character’s forearms.
The blades use the standard knife rules for damage and reach. The cost is ¥75 per blade, availability is 4/48 hours, Street Index is 2, and concealment is 8 (or 6 if the sheaths are visible).

Garrote
by Patrick Goodman
The garrote is a strangling wire used for silent kills. In game terms, treat it as a successful Subduing attack doing Deadly damage. The attack takes a Full Action to execute, and the attacker must win an Opposed Strength test against the target. If successful, the target suffers Deadly damage equal to the net successes.
The target may attempt to break free on their next action by making another Opposed Strength test. If they fail, they continue to take damage each turn.
